A loan origination system for a bank in Bali, Indonesia. It takes a traditionally paper-based, cumbersome application process and turns it into a digital flow — guided forms for applicants, KYC scoring and AI-read transaction histories for the analysts. I built the frontend.
Overview
This system streamlines the loan application process end to end: it minimizes the complexity applicants face, and gives the bank better customer analysis (KYC) on the other side. What used to live in folders and manual data entry now moves as structured, scored data.
I collaborated with backend developers and UI designers to build an engaging, user-friendly frontend in Vue, from the guided application form to the analyst dashboard, keeping the experience responsive and seamless throughout.
The journey
Instead of a stack of paper forms at a branch, the applicant works through a guided, step-by-step form online.
IDs, statements, and collateral papers are uploaded once and stored securely — nothing physical to lose or damage.
KYC checks and borrower profile scoring run through a governance API, feeding the analyst a profile instead of a folder.
AI extracts and analyzes bank transaction histories that staff used to type in by hand.
The analyst sees the scored profile, documents, and transaction analysis in one place and makes the call.
One system, three audiences
Applicants
Applying for a loan means a lot of questions. The form is broken into small guided sections with clear navigation, so nobody faces a wall of fields.
Analysts
Borrower scoring, documents, and AI-read transaction histories land in one view, so the analysis starts from answers instead of data entry.
Management
A data-driven dashboard with interactive visualizations shows how applications move through the pipeline and where decisions stall.
Engineering decisions
The loan application form was the most complex piece of the system. I took it through iterative design rounds, splitting it into smaller sections with intuitive navigation and inline guidance, so a process that used to be a cumbersome paper stack became a flow people can finish.
The administrative dashboard integrates interactive data visualizations with a governance API for borrower profile scoring. Analysts decide from scored, visualized data instead of raw records.
Physical loan documents are vulnerable — they get lost, damaged, and are slow to retrieve. A cloud storage solution made every document secure and instantly accessible from the application it belongs to.
Manually entering bank transaction histories was the slowest step in loan approval — staff spent hours typing before analysis could even start. Integrating AI to automate that task significantly expedited approvals, with faster and more accurate assessments.
Outcome
The bank went from folders and hand-typed spreadsheets to a flow where an application arrives structured, scored, and ready to decide on. The paper stack never came back.
